Configuring Language Settings

This guide explains how to:

• Set Kazakh as the default language for all users (admin-level setting)

• Change the language preference individually as a user

Before proceeding, make sure the plugin is installed and enabled on your Jira instance.

To set Kazakh as the default language for all users in your Jira instance, follow these steps as a Jira administrator:

1. Log in as a Jira Administrator
   Ensure that you have administrative privileges before attempting to change system-wide settings.

2. Navigate to System Settings
   Go to the top-right corner of the screen and click the gear icon Administration ⚙️.
   Select System from the dropdown menu.

3. In the sidebar, select General configuration and click the Edit settings button.

4. Find the 'User Interface' Section
   In the left-hand sidebar, scroll down to the User Interface section and click on Look and Feel.

5. Change the Default Language

   • Locate the field labeled Default language.

   • From the dropdown list, select Kazakh (Kazakhstan).
     (Note: This option will only appear if the Kazakh Language Pack is installed and enabled.)

6. Save Changes
   Click the Update button at the bottom of the page to apply the new default language setting.

Each user in Jira can choose their preferred language independently of the system default. If you want to use Jira in Kazakh, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Your Jira Account
   Use your credentials to access your Jira instance.

2. Go to Your Profile Settings

   • Click on your avatar or profile icon in the top-right corner.

   • Select Profile from the dropdown menu.

3. Access Account Preferences

   • On your profile page, click the Edit button in the Preferences section.

4. Select Your Preferred Language

   • Click the dropdown menu next to Language.

   • Choose Kazakh (Kazakhstan) from the list.
     (Note: This option will only appear if the Kazakh Language Pack is installed and enabled.)

5. Save Changes
   Your language preference will be updated immediately. The Jira interface will now be displayed in Kazakh.
